Few new houses had been build in the city limits of Beattyville, KY during the past decade due to unavailability of affordable building sites. The challenge was to develop and establish a subdivision to enourage privae homeownership and improve quality. From the beginning, the concept was to build homes that would encourage a mix of incomes to reside in this subdivision. Through careful attention to detail, adequate funding and strong support from the Beattyville City Council, 50 lots were developed with underground water, sewer, gas and electric to each site.
